All the staff is very helpful and friendly. Rooms were very clean when we checked in. Housekeeping will ONLY clean your room if you specify with door sign. 🤷🏻‍♀️They don't give you enough towels. But everything else was GREAT!

My mother and I went for her birthday. The best hotel in Cancun that has the best Staff. Frida restaurant the best waiters, Luis, Osman, Bolio, Carlos, Josofat and Juan they made our experience perfect. Alberto from day 1 helped with bags to our room. If we had questions or requests he was right there to help. We definitely will have a beautiful friendship always. Out of all hotels in Cancun, Ocean Spa is Magnificent.

The hotel has nice facilities, very rich food but the attention from the waiters very regular if you do not tip you do not take care of you well and ignore you, the attention of the concierges is lousy they are very rude to the point of making fun of people … they want to sell you everything is an invasive marketing hotel.

We had a wonderful time. Service was amazing! the staff treated us like gold! they all made us feel special! had the most awesome massage upstairs in their spa! Amisael, Luis Migue, l Bolio and Josatat from Food service took wonderful care of us in the restaurants. Such a great staff!

WORST HOTEL YOU COULD EVER GO TO! DO NOT COME AT ALL! They are liars, they take so much money in sneaky ways. THE FOOD IS THE WORST FOOD YOU COULD EVER EAT! My brother got food poising. They give you the same food EVERY SINGLE DAY. Every single day! no taste. Undercooked. Over cooked, NO FLAVORS. NONE! Horrible food. Please save your self the money & the irritation. Worst hotel ive ever stepped foot in.

Good night, less than a week ago I was in the facilities of said hotel and the truth seemed to me, terrible service, I acquired a package through book hotel stays, who offered me and sold some wonders of services and at the same time to take them was, terrible service, eye for future visits made me sign a document where they did not give me prior notice to q to make my check out, will pay almost 28 Dollars, apart from that the room, terrible water service of the bathrooms and their smells, the truth the hotel should improve its service and more when they sell packages through third parties.

The only thing that bothered me is that he asks for a drink at the entrance bar Ask for a pipote and the bartender told me that he does not cost to give pipotes. I have never ever been denied that kind of service.

This resort has taken our money and won’t refund with 8 days advance cancellation notice. Beware. They force every guest to attend 2-3 hour presentation. Not worth the money to spend half a day being pressured into buying their time share of a low end crappy resort. We paid and decided not to go now they won’t refund.

The staff was straight up incredible. Every single person we encountered had smiles and greetings for us, most also offered to be of service in their respective capacity. Just got home yesterday and can't wait to go back. The live music at the lobby bar was fantastic and so much fun. Our favorite restaurants were the Italian and Frida. The buffet was decent, but not really my favorite. It was super convenient though. I'm disabled and they would chase me down to help if they saw me trying to carry my own plate. We also felt quite safe with the security staff presence.

I was staying at the hotel since last week and the truth was very satisfied, I totally recommend them, they gave my family a very special treatment and the buffet food at all times was delicious. 5 stars.

The food was awful. The buffet for breakfast was ok but lunch and dinner buffet very bad. The pizza bar awful. The Mexican restaurant wasn't that great I found two dishes that were was decent. The staff was very friendly and the rooms and the grounds were nice.

There is a couple things that made out trip.
1) the bartenders and wait staff! they were VERY friendly and helpful… specially Moses! Great bartender!
2) the location. Wasn't windy for being in Cancun. You could watch boats coming and going for it was close to a marina.
The hotel itself is old. Nerds some updating. Switches that flickered or didnt work al all in the room.
BEAUTIFUL landscaping.
If I DEAL came across my phone… I'd go back… but a last minute and cheap price only.

This resort has a family environment, safe. It is near shopping areas. Best food ever. Their employees are the best, friendly people, honest. I recommend this hotel resort to everybody that want to have a safe and comfortable family great vacation.

We loved our stay at Oceans Spa in July. The staff is beyond incredible. Everyone is friendly, and helpful.

Very friendly people who works here. Very remarkable place to dine, to relax, and to drink alcohol. It is probably one of the best hotels you can stay in C A N C Un! I love this place. I will be back soon.

Yeah was nice to expend my vacation there for few days the waitres very good the food was excelent and atention was very satisfactory for me personal everything was good.

Concierge are not very friendly, they don’t tell you any of the information you have to know where, who to call if in case you have to book any reservations you have made ahead of time. They are not very helpfull. They close their ears when you are trying to explain. They don’t want to hear anything from you and don’t want to find solutions. When you take a shower, water was everywhere, water splashes everywhere, no door or any barrier to stop the water from coming out from the shower room.

Husband & I spent our honeymoon here in a spa level room. We had an absolute blast! The resort staff was always super friendly. We enjoyed the cuisine, drinks, pool, bars, GREEN JUICE, amenities, couple’s massage, everything! Thanks for helping to make our honeymoon amazing! We can’t wait to come back in the future!

1. No real direction when checking in.
2. Dress code and rules weren’t always enforced for everyone EXCEPT me which felt unfair.
3. Doing the “all inclusive” package felt like a waste of money with the poor service that was given.
4. Ridiculous Spa prices and constantly harassed by the merchants to buy their products.
5. Incorrect information given about shows at neighboring hotels which left me stuck for an hour waiting for the shuttle again.
6. Lack of activities left more to be desired at the actual resort itself.
7. No elevator to hotel room. Not a concern based of laziness but a concern for accessibility for those that can’t always cling stairs multiple times throughout the day.
Coming directly from the Krystal resorts in Ixtapa this resort unfortunately fell extremely short and I can’t say that this will be my first choice when/if I return to Cancun.

CONS — FacilityThe facility itself was a little out dated. The beach had a lot of corrosions so we swam in the pool everyday instead. Our sheets weren’t changed the whole week, just folded and I knew that because of the same brown circle stain I saw everyday on the side of our sheets. I asked For the sheets to be changed after the second day but was still left the same. Could have more entertainment and play better music by the pool to set the mood to make the experience better. Some suggestions of improvement can be more daily and nightly entertainment. Maybe add some beach party or pool party for families to enjoy. I found that we were always looking for things to do at the resort but nothing much there compared to other resorts I stayed in Mexico. PROS — CUSTOMER SERVICEThe workers at the restaurant, at the bar, and front desk did make our stay better and made up for the facility. Big thank you to DIEGO for helping us throughout the process of checking in, checking out and booking activities in Mexico. I also want to thank RICARDO! He was the entertainer for hotel and also worked as a COCO BONGO REP. He made the trip memorable for us despite the facility. He was with us throughout the whole night of coco bongo and took care of us making sure we're receiving our drinks. THANK YOU SO MUCH RICARDO! you will be missed!

We have been at the Ocean Spa for a day and it has been fantastic. The staff is phenomenal! Literally everyone is so courteous and friendly. We are having the BEST vacation! The food has been tasty and there have been so many options. I would definitely consider returning in the future.

We just checked out early morning for 6 nights. Superb to Diego our waiter almost everyday and to all hard working staff members esp in the dinning area. Your staff has execellent service and courteous. Good food and ambience. Will definitely recommend to our friends and family.

To Elisa our room housekeeping, Elizabeth in the Concierge and to Eduardo in the front desk thank you so much for the wonderful services during our stay. The downside was on the day of our 27th Wedding Anniversary was the presentation held in Sunset Royal which took 6 hours and we were left behind & no idea if we will be dropped off to Ocean Spa. It was a tiring day when we came back to the hotel & no chance to have an intimate celebration, just simple dinner & drinks in the bar. And one more thing the water that comes from the shower & faucet from our room has a stinky smell that makes me wonder if you have water treatment/ filtration. But overall, our vacation in Ocean Spa was memorable considering not only the wonderful amenities you have but because of the excellent staff behind it! Kudos to all Ocean Spa crew! Everyone is working hard to make this facilities awesome. We would definitely love to stay when we come back with our 4 kids next time we visit Cancun.

First 5 hours had to call maintenance 3 times for issues. They told us we had a balcony room and was given a no balcony room. The ceiling fan didn't work right and maintenanceHad to fix it. Had a Jacuzzi in the room, but didn't work. Then when fixed, started leaking, had to call again. Or view was a green construction fence. The beach was dingy and dirty, and water was dark from all the sea grass. Was not happy. Will not go back to Cancun. Bad taste in my mouth. The all inclusive was decent. The staff was amazing and very helpful. If you're going to try to sell a timeshare with a program, don't give people those kind of hotels to stay at.

First night yesterday and wasn't happy with my room. I wanted a a balcony so I could sit outside in the evenings. The night staff especially Diego were so helpful and said to go to reception in the morning and he was sure they would find me a room. Less than 24hrs of arriving they'd moved my suitcase to a new room. Thanks it's perfect.

All inclusive is the way to go if traveling with kids. Love the various pools with some that are right depths for kids. Staff was friendly and food was good.

It's very cozy. With excellent staff attention. As far as the beach would need to improve a bit, but it is not that bad. And then everything's fine.

Our first time to Ocean Spa Hotel and we had an exquisite time. My wife and I brought our daughter, 7 and son, 12. The room, cuisine and beach were good but the part that made the trip exceptional was the staff. Irving (Inferno), Armando (Bartender), and Audi (Drink Taker and Ideas) thanks for showing us a great time! Tip these guys well because they are worth it.

A very nice all-inclusive resort. My family and I stayed for 5 days and we really enjoyed ourselves. The staff is amazing. There is beach access. No ocean view rooms though. Although there are generally all day eating options, the food isn't that good. There are several bars available. Very nice pools to choose from. There's a kiddie pool available as well. Overall I think that this is a GOOD, not great place to stay. I'm sure there are better places but I've stayed in worse, so I'll give it 4 stars. The rooms are nice but the staff is what sells the place. Armando and Audi are my favorite guys on staff. If you meet them you'll see what I mean. And tip them. They'll make your trip much better.

Beach was OK in general. Lots of other reaorts in the area but not really busy. Food was great. Different choices and drinks were of course good. Night events done as well. Hang out by the beach at night… Priceless.

It is a very nice hotel. It strives for a good attention in particular Ismael that made our stay something perfect but in general I have no complaint 100% Recomendadisimo.

The attention of the vast majority of the staff is excellent. Very attentive and helpful. Facilities well. Your beach is not your forte. The food there is not much variety but daily change much of the menu and very delicious. They do not discriminate against national tourism. I'm still surprised by the attention. In any other hotel I have been served so well.

We had multiple issues staying here ranging from not having any hot water one day to no water the next day. We had a cockaroach issue the first night that was not fun to wake up to. Pablo at the front desk is pretty much an ass and really should not be allowed to speak with guests.

I stayed at this hotel part of a promotional event. The hotel was nice for the price. The buffet selection wasn't that big of a selection and was the same everyday, however I loved the fresh fruit. They did have activities avaiable everyday for the guest. Only pickup from the airport is free. They were very accomendating when did ask for anything like extra towels. Did have a few problems with the first room, ants, so we had to switch to a other room where the toilet was constantly running. But if you are out of your room all day no big deal. I wish they offered a bigger food selection and more activities but it was a nice family get-a-away.

We loved everything from the entrance, we felt like family.

Oh! And with the option of being able to visit the services of the hotel chain much better.

The service and accommodations were great. The food was on point. I killed the buffet every day. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is because I was there for 5 days and did not get drunk. Not sure how that is possible considering I started the mornings with mimosas and ended with tequila.

It’s a very old hotel. The room smelled like a sewer. The water was nasty. The food was not good at the buffet but the Italian restaurant was decent. The staff was great though. We will not be back and definitely would not recommend this place!

It is a small but very cozy hotel to be with family, the rooms are with few luxuries but with everything you need to have a carefree holiday.
Excellent staff attention since you arrive until you get out.
The food offered by the hotel in its international buffet and restaurants is delicious as are the cocktails of the different bars.
They have varied programming of activities within the hotel in the day and at night.
Its location is very good as it is in the hotel zone in the middle of downtown Cancun and the center of the hotel zone.
Coming out in front of the hotel you find Minimarket, drugstore, Catholic Church and bus stops of public transport that is very useful to move in the hotel zone to a minimum price.

It was okay, the hotel was pretty basic. The food wasn't terrible but it wasn't very good either. What I did like is the views on those rooms. Service was adequate, the beach was meh.

The service was great, the staff was helpful and friendly. The food was ok, Ive tasted better at other smaller restaurants. The room was great, however our shower didnt have any hot water. The pool and other services are pretty good.

Sylvia is a representative who call to see if we were happy at the resort. Offered help to make sure we are happy Made nice suggestions and made us feel very welcome. The sports director Manuel works very hard to keep activities going. Very friendly and goes out of his way. Alexander manager very friendly want you to feel at home. Ever a problem with anything within the resort he will help. Goes out of his way always friendly and sets up special activities. Asked him why there was no children’s club here as there are a lot of. Children. Said he was hoping to get a children’s club soon. No immediate plan. Captain of meal stefano approaches us to see if we’re happy with the food and went out of his way to make us comfortable. Said if you need any special food ask me. Nice Yoga lessons (forgot name} very friendly and wanted us to join in at 930 Everyone including the staff working here is friendly, wanting to help our stay to be special. The workers are all friendly and helpful Resort needs to upgrade furniture at the beach and towels in the room. This would improve this resort a lot. They all try hard at making our stay pleasant and comfortable We would recommend this resort for the average consumer. Great for families. Resort is quite protected from the winds. It's an older resort but very well kept. Every thing was spotless and the staff bent over backwards to make our stay enjoyable. We like to think of ourselves as foodies, and the food didn't disappoint. The staff would make suggestions (try the elote coffee on Mexican night) and everything was great. The entertainment director kept everyone going even though it rained most days there. Best massage we have ever had. We will be going back. Thanks Ocean Spa and the Sunset Group.

We ate dinner at the Sunset Ocean Spa Hotel. Alan and his co-worker were our servers for the section. They were awesome. I have worked in the hospitality industry (forced labor in a family restaurant) also and these two servers were on point with the way they did their job. I AM IMPRESSED! The entire food display was well laid out and very pretty or visually pleasing to me. The kids were even impressed with the food display and how creative it appeared to be as it was laid out. This experience was by far very memorable out of the whole trip. This was a great Christmas Eve dinner for the family. We came to the property to catch our ride to Isle de Mujeres. We caught the end run of the grill session by the beach and the personnel were just great. I was inside dealing with one issue with the front desk and was again treated kindly and professionally by the personnel at this property. I did notice there were quite a few staff around, but I was helped within a few minutes. We were unable to book this property as a result of circumstances, but this would definitely be a first choice if we were to return to these properties. I didn't get a chance to view to room interiors but I can say that their personnel are very good and the food selection was very good. You can view pictures of our meal. Due to an issue with my phone at a local excursion venue on zip lines, my pictures will be slightly delayed but soon to follow. Check back with me if you are planning that getaway soon.

My husband and I stayed at Ocean Spa for a second time 12/4/17 to 12/8/17. We enjoyed the resort, the beach and the staff is very professional. We also had a great server Alan Alexander he was polite, professional and treated us wonderful. As far the inclusive food package with the room I would not recommend it. My husband and I got food poisoning and we were sick most of the our trip, but we still had a great time.

An excellent hotel with a very nice staff!
I am very thankful to them that I needed a hotel with urgency as I had bought a package at Orbitz and a day before the trip I cancelled the hotel, it was made a bunch of nerves and thanks to this beautiful people starting with the reservation girl and a Girl Reception that I attended super well and helped me to have in time a room for my family and that apart from so effective work the girl at reception very kindly change the room because it was on a 3rd floor and without asking the change on the ground floor as my Mom suffers from her knees.
A thousand thanks and tell me my parents who have an excellent service what the big hotels are missing!

Any hotel, no beach setting between 2 pontoons of boats. Noisy room located next to the ventilation system. Despite the All inclusive we are obliged to give our room numbers without stopping. Also do not arrive late to the restaurants evening they are closed or the buffet is empty. For Mojitos when there is no more mint, it is over.

Stayed here as part of a promo package that required us to attend a membership presentation for their hotel group. The rooms and grounds feel a bit dated in comparison to the other hotels in the area but its clean and well kept. Service was very attentive and the staff works to provide anything you may need. The food was decent. At the buffet, the choices are somewhat limited and some of the unused food seems to be reused to make other dishes for the next meal time. This didn't result in any stomach issues for me. Located between downtown Cancun and the large tourist/hotel area along the main highway. Transportation is available to the other Sunset hotels or hop on a bus if you want to stop anywhere beyond or in between.

The people who works here are amazingly Nice! The ocean waves are not strong so u can get to enjoy the water. The only thing is that there are yacht park out at the ocean. There is a space for the swimming area though. They offer free kayaking as well. 4/5 for the food. 4/5 for the room.

It's definitely a resort for those of us that want to spend more on the fun activities than the room to sleep in. We had an all-inclusive package. Overall, the stay was rather nice. My family didn't like having to make a reservations before 4:00pm for any of the specialty restaurants because we had planned activities and we were unable to eat at any of them because we left early day. If you don't like outdoor eating, stay away from the snack bar because it is exposed to everything, including the local insects. We didn't mind the buffet and the breakfast was amazing. Lunch and dinner need a bit more variety. The beach was great. Small waves for my 5 year old and we saw stingrays and lots of fish nearby. The depth is also about 3-4ft even close to the pier. No comments on the spa. The staff we friendly overall but some of them seem to be a bit frustrated at times. The staff at the buffet were pleasant and the chocolate milk is really, really good. Didn't have drinks, so no comment on the bar. The restaurants there are under strict schedule, beware. My wife couldn't get a water bottle because it was 7:30am and the restaurant/bar opened at 8:00am. The rooms smelled like they were old. It was humid in there and the A/C had trouble keeping up with the moisture. My wife claimed the bed was hard but we were able to sleep in them just fine. The view from the room was overlooking the pool area and it was nice. I recommend the resort.

A relaxed atmosphere. The staff is the hardest working people I have seen. The beach breezes are warm and cool. They wait on you hand n foot. A very clean resort. All the food and drinks. All day. A every year visit. Love ya. Thanks a million.

Dirty, I had to call the maintenance staff to clean the pool. There were plastic bottles in the kids ' pool. Noisy, the road is close. The air conditioning is very noisy. The local staff friendly but not the salespeople who harass you to sell Timeshare. Small beach. Away from the beautiful places in Cancun. In the morning it stinks the sewers.

Stayed here for out first time in Mexico. Everybody, staff and guests are very friendly & helpful. Ocean Spa is a smaller resort, which we really like — we live in a very small town back in northeastern USA. Since it's all-inclusive it makes it easy for food and drinks — don't have to carry around money. Also, the beach is pretty nice, though not the pretty blue water I was expecting.

The hotel has a quaint feel. The rooms are small but passable. Each room has a balcony, which is nice, as most overlooked the pool area of with ocean views. There are at least three bars on the property, including a swim-up bar in the central pool. There is a buff a restaurant as well as themed restaurants which operate on different days of the week. The theme restaurants include Mexican, Asian, and Italian. The condition of the property is okay, but there are some areas which show signs of wear. However, the staff is very diligent about making sure that the property is very clean at all times. It seems like the staff is in non stop cleaning mode. The service staff is also very friendly and attentive. There is a good variety of activities going on throughout the day. The beach area is small but very pretty.

I had an all inclusive stay. The food and drinks were great. The staff were all very friendly, spoke English and were helpful. The concierge was amazing, helping to plan my whole five days. The spa was wonderful. The steam room and sauna were included in my package. The staff knocked when it was time to get out and got me water to make sure I was safe and hydrated. The full body massage was a great deal and felt simply devine. The only thing that I wish was better, was that the beach was a little small and some of the street vendors were by the pool in the evening and I already had enough of them from everywhere else I went. Overall, a great place to stay in Cancun.

Very good, respectable cocktails, and well presentable rooms… It would rescue only the fact that the Tvs are already obsolete and you can not go out to drink and climb stairs to the 3rd floor that lifts there is only from the 4th. The beach is fine, with a bit of algae but those shortcomings is supplemented by the Kayak and an excellent pool. If you invited ALL inclusive Sunset Hotel chain, just go to the royal beach.

First a few good things to note. There was hot water, AC, and the doors locked. The staff was nice, and the bus stop is close (take the time to figure it out, much cheaper than taxis). My husband and I don't stay in the room often. And for the most part, this got the job done. Luckily we got a good deal, because otherwise I would have checked into somewhere else. Here's the bad. The drainage system is poor and our bathroom smelled awful the entire time, as well as the toilet barely working and shower draining so slow it coves my entire feet (even during a quick rinse after the beach). I understand the country as a whole has issues but I feel our room was much worse than need some alley bars we went into. The shower had no door and was very poorly designed, the bathroom and by the sink got Soaked every time we showered. The Wi-Fi was free but very very poor. There were some ants in the room; they were very small, I understand it happens in this environment but there were more than I was ok to ignore. The fridge would not keep our things any cooler than if we were to leave them out with the AC on. The lighting was poor in the sink and make up area. The bed was bed was overall pretty bad, but we still slept. The buffet is awful, avoid it if you can. The drinks are also terrible; I could tell you it was juice and not a margarita and you would believe me. Stick to beer or wine!

All super friendly, the hotel beautiful, Miguel and Julio at the restaurant are the best. Here ask for the hand of my girlfriend and it was amazing!

First let start with the positives. The actual hotel staff is friendly and my A/C worked in my room, plus the floors were mopped clean (i wore socks when I was in the room and they stayed relatively clean). Now I came to this place on one of those 5days/4nights deals and only pay about $200 for the taxes. On the phone I was told I did not have to attend any presentation but when I arrived they required a credit card on file for "accidentals" and was informed that if I did not attend their 90 minute presentation I would be charged the highest daily price. I felt like I had to give in but was very irritated by this bait and switch scheme. My presentation was booked for the next day and I was not allowed to choose an alternate day so I planned on going on an 1pm excursion. I was taken to a sister property where I had a lovely breakfast and the guy assigned to me was very friendly and talkative. So much so that I didnt realize until almost 12noon that we were wayyyy over the time. 95% of the tours in cancun are before 9am which leaves u with nothing else to do but sit at the pool for the rest of the day. I was irratated because I missed my ATV/zipline activity. I saw a total of 2 properties and really wasn't impress with the accommodations. I have my own home so I know what good construction work looks like, plus I usually stay at 4+star hotels and from what I saw at Ocean Spa and their sister properties I would be embarrassed to recommend them to my friends/family.

Ocean spa hotel is the worst place to stay… The ROOM SMELLED BAD. Out Dated air conditioner just down right OLD not happy with my stay. Wi-Fi don't work only one outlet work in the room the place is not clean. NEVER Will I STAY here Again… Ocean spa give cancun Mexico trip a BAD A Name.

We are very grateful for having received a quality care, friendly atmosphere and excellent vacation, especially on the part of the Lady SILVIA (telephone Operator of the Hotel), since we attended and we resolved all the concerns at the appropriate time, as well as the Lord PHILIP (official Reception), whom I worked immediately, and in a committed way in my forgotten my cell phone. We will recommend this Hotel to all our friends and family. Thanks again.

I spent 4nights 5 days with my boyfriend at Ocean Spa, we stayed in room The bathroom was dirty and had urine on the floor, the room it self was old and smelled moldy. OH! and may I add that 2 water bugs came out to greet us SMH… but we made the best of the room we didn't complain, but what made me write this is review was the front desk lady named Beatriz she was very rude, with nasty attitude, disrespectful and spoke to us in a condescending tone she didn't even look at us when we spoke to her I will smile and talk nice to her and she will sigh… as if we were bothering her. I was going to tell her about her self but I kept my composure, I was not going to let her ruin our vacation. So I asked to speak with the general manager about her behavior. So I spoke to Santiago Briseno told him way we were treated by Beatriz, how she needs to trained because that's not the way to treat your guest, I work for a hotel in NYC for almost 17 years and we don't treat our guest that. We felt discriminated on. There was also a occasion were we was waiting at the desk trying to get Beatriz attention and she totally ignored us and she called the guy that was behind us to help him SMH. I hope that Mr Briseno had a talk with her so she don't treat no one else the way she treated us. That being said I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO OCEAN SPA RESORT! AND I WILL NOT RECOMMEND IT! especially if you are afro American, I was never treated like this before.
