Check-in: very unfriendly, asked for twin beds but didn't get it. If not available anymore ok, but they didn't tell us. Just gave the key and then we saw the double bed. I also had an empty plastic bottle. I asked them for a rubbish bin and they told me I should leave the hotel, go outside and throw it there. Room: clean but very small, towel was smelly. Shower and toilet together, very squeezed. Breakfast average to poor. The best: big pool on the rooftop with nice view.

Decent hotel within CBD of Singapore and nearby Clarke Quay. Neat but small rooms (as expected). Breakfast was complimentary but hard to get vegetarian food. The lady was kind to make a good salad and omelette. Chinatown is walkable but for business travellers on the rush, its difficult to make that extra detour.

Good location, walkable to a lot of restaurant, clean, modern, decent value for Singapore, close to metro stations name Boat Quay. Small room tho & no windows. Very small. But reasonable for 3 nights. Mostly we're out.

Well located and quiet. Small room for a family.

Small room, no hot water in the morning, bathroom bath will be stagnant, bathroom door can not be closed from outside, moisture will drift out, the cupboard is broken, drawers have hair is not clean. The only place is good.

Located at awesome place, but budgeted rooms are very small and has no windows. Cost of windows room is higher, infact if you have budget for windows room, I would suggest you to go for Park hotel which is nearby (5 minutes walking) from this hotel. Staff is new and doesn't know much about hospitality.

Located near Riverside, and we'll connected to MRT and Mall. All Rooms without window are smelly as there is air circulation. Look for room with window only. Or if you have budget, you can go for Park hotel. This year I saw all staff is new and novice, not well trained. Stay in this hotel if you pocket doesn't allow other well known hotels. This hotel doesn't has restaurant only breakfast is served, for which you have to go to other area.

Rather 3, 5 stars the size of the room and the steps to climb to get to the reception otherwise the pool on the roof is the well come.

We, (3 men from Germany) booked this hotel as a start hotel of our 3 week Backpackerreise.
We were very pleased with the cleanliness and the staff.
Another plus, we were able to determine beforehand with the staff when we checked in.
After a hot day in the city, the rooftop pool was a welcome cooling off.
Highly recommended, graded because of the value for money and the really very good location.

The only thing that's good here is the location. Otherwise there are no advantages. Small rooms in which there is musty air — a mixture of the smell of past guests and constantly working air conditioning. At the request to briefly open the window to ventilate, received a strong refusal. This hotel is worth choosing only if you have no other options and money quite a bit.

Good location for Clarke Quay, Boat Quay and the metro. Short walk to China town. Be aware that this hotel has tiny rooms and bathrooms. We managed for three nights. Bathroom is actually a wet room so showering means everything gets wet. Shower gel container also has to serve the was basin which was annoying. Because of location would stay here again.

Expensive for the size of the room, could not use the pool as it fell a few drops of rain so no access, decent breakfast.

Great location Amazing staff, clean hotel and small outdoor pool on the rooftop. However, if you want to workout during your stay book elsewhere. They only have two cardio machines. Otherwise, I highly recommend it.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It was located right opposite a mall and the train station. There was also a 7-11 right downstairs the hotel and a 24 hour Indian eatery close by. Chinatown is also about a 10 minute walk away. There was a pool and gym on the 6th floor which was quite empty both during the day and in the evening. Would love to see a larger gym however, as there was only one elliptical and a treadmill in a small room there. Other than that, lovely hotel.

Good choice, very clean, Central station half a block from there you mobilize to all Singapore.

Well, you can't be afraid of space. Mini room, partly without window at a price where you like to put a few euros on it to have another hotel. The small bathroom with toilet must be kept as a complete shower cabin. After showering is of course all completely wet, toilet and…
Minibar was not in the room, not even a safe, for that a kettle. Positive, right next door there is a "24/7 supermarket" which, however, is closed from 16:30 to 20:30 so real a 20/7 supermarket. Oh, the Wi-Fi is free.

A decent and cheap place to stay within the Business District in Singapore. If backpacking is not your thing and you have a little bit of budget, this hotel is for you. Situated in the heart of Singapore, it is a walking distance to famous landmarks like Marina bay sands, Esplanade, Chinatown, Clarke Quay. Also near Clarke Quay MRT station so you can save yourself from riding a taxi. Though, taxi in Singapore is cheap compare to other countries (and no tip required). Rooms are decent, nothing special, not that spacious but what the heck, you will just be there to sleep. There is also a swimming pool if that is your thing. The gym only have Threadmill. The place is clean and I recommend it for it's price.

Budget hotel with great location: walking distance to Clarke Quay and MRT Station. Staffs are friendly. Got restaurant below and pool at the top.

​ The reception in the hotel was perfect. During my stay the staff was helpful, I asked for some particular things and all my concerns were addressed. The room and the bathroom were not so big. Anyway, in relation to the price paid the room was perfect. Furthermore, the location is also good, close to metro and central places. In the overall the experience was perfect.

Nice price and location, though water wasn't very warm and room was quite small. Comfortable beds though. Staff is super friendly.

A convenient location, if not for long and to get to know the city in my opinion the best location. Without pathos, everything is within walking distance.

The room I stayed in was clean but extremely small. The staff were the highlight of the Fragrance Hotel. They were friendly, personable, and helpful. The hotel is well located, close to Marina Bay Sands, the Gardens by the Bay and the Merlion.

Very small rooms, and if you touch without a window. The feeling of humidity is brutal. At least the Q got to us… The good thing is the great location!

The rooms are cramped, the location is comfortable, there is a pool, the evening is refreshed, a trifle but pleasant. Overall the experience is good.

Simple clean room for our overnight in Singapore. Super easy to catch the shuttle for $9 per person or $2.50 via the train. While there were a few things that needed attention, everything worked, we would stay again.

I don't advise the room without a window.

Loved it for the location, it's located at a walking distance from boat quay, and clarke quay central. Easy access to shops, restaurants, malls, market, bus stops and the metro station. The staff is friendly and service is awesome. The only drawback is that rooms are little bit small i. E not too spacious.

The room I was in was very small and didn't have a window.

We stayed in this Hotel for 2 nights, easy 10 min walk to Chinatown, across the road is Clarke Quay Central Mall, behind that is Clarke Quay Riverside where there are River Cruises, many night clubs with live bands which you do not hear from hotel and plenty of restaurants to choose from, very romantic here with the River Cruise boats coming and going with pretty lighting. We were happy with the Hotel, 7/11 beside entrance, also a Cafe which does a Western Breakfast for $10 right at front door. In other words very central for shopping and night life fun. If you see Wong on his three wheeler push bike, he will take you for a ride of this area for $10 for an hour tour, he is 72 yrs old and knows the history of Singapore, well worth it. Pleased we chose Fragrance Hotel Riverside, would stay here again for sure.

Check-in took a while but checkout was fast and painless. The common areas look clean and tidy. The room itself was tiny and lacked windows, as was the bathroom. Thankfully, the AC in the room worked well. The shower is placed so close to the toilet bowl that water from the uncovered bowl can splash onto you while showering. There are better hotels in the neighborhood that are priced the same or are only slightly more expensive.

Greetings! Travellers. Upon checking-in the staff offers a great smile, assisted us with usual hotel documentation and gave us early check-in. This hotel have luggage storage for early arrivals. Rooms are small including the water closet. Dining area needs improvement with process and service. Wasted our time waiting for food rather than enjoying it.

I would like to use Fragrance Hotel — Riverside as a point of reference on how I would like to describe the Fragrance Hotel — Selegie. Me and my friends were booked at the Riverside, whereas my parents were booked at the Selegie. I have noted major differences between the two hotels, given the fact that they are both from the same corporation or owner, Fragrance Hotel in Selegie is a big NO NO. Why? the receptionists are not friendly. They are very disrespectful. I, myself, is a Filipino and they did not give me any respect when I tried to visit my parents. They called up my parents and allowed them to let me go straight to their room, however, the receptionist still asked for my passport. I apologized to them when I realized that I wasnt able to bring my passport with me, and to that point, the receptionist, (my fellow Filipino men) started giving me disrespectful words that I cannot go through the lobby without it. It was fine. But when me and my friend were talking at the lobby, he suddenly called some information system and tried to mock me. He stopped when he noted that my mom went down already and he was addressed immediately to their management. It was November 2, 2013 (Saturday) at 7-8 PM.

You get what you paid for. Nice location and tiny room.

Hotel justito. In full quarter Indian in the city of Singapore. The location is not bad but the hotel would not recommend it.
Rooms very small, not worked well hot, the air conditioning was very strong and not had a way to download it… In general the two hotels that we've tried this chain Fragance, not recommend them.

Great location, near to little india mrt, next to 7eleven, nice hotel but with small room.

Very near but the rooms are really small even for just two people. We stayed there only for two days so was alright but would have preferred at least slightly bigger rooms.

Dont go to this hotel. Worst hotel I ha d ever seen. Very small room, even 2 persons cant settle in room with laggauge.

Really not worth staying at. We booked here by mistake as we were rushing, but nonetheless the pictures were very different to the actual rooms (yes, normally it appears larger, but this showed it as completely different), and the room was exceptionally tiny with no windows. Internet was expensive and if you wanted to have it on your laptop and phone at the same time, you needed to purchase 2 separate internet connections.

A very nice hostel, with a very good staff. This is not expensive and service is wonderful.
