Be Mar Hostel Hostel

The only window in my room looks out onto a court yard which people smoke in, there is easy access into my room with the window open. Hella Sketchy! NOPE!

Very good location near the Rambla, nice room, Wi-Fi working, only flawed staff not courteous.

Well located if you wanna be on foot all the time. Public transport (bus or underground) both are atleast 500 mtrs away. Which if you wanna use a couple of times a day can start to look far. Always hustle and bustle around this place. Wifi is a deal breaker for some like me. The private rooms on top don't catch Wi-Fi properly which is a big low point. Overall a good place with spacious rooms. Helpful staff.

Nice bed, but the bathrooms are pretty gross. They ran out of toilet paper for both, and I informed the front desk, but a couple hours later there still isn't toilet paper…

High prices for the services offered, but it is a five minute walk from the Rambla.

Staff were neither friendly nor unfriendly. The door to my room gave problems to open with my key card. It did have a laundry area and decent Wi-Fi.

The hostel staff are very friendly, rooms are nice, beds are firm. You get what you pay for which in this case is good!

Location was good, within good walking distance to things in the center, and the shoreline. The rooms were clean, as well as the bathrooms, and the staff were all very nice and helpful. The water was very hoy which was great!

This hostel is not fit for humans. I wouldn't let my dog stay here. The staff is very friendly and helpful however this hostel is seriously lacking in cleanliness. My bed had a cockroach crawling around. The bathroom also had a cockroach. The bathrooms are smelly and not well maintained. The aircon in my room was set to 30 degrees celsius and when I complained at reception, the receptionist couldnt find the remote. The corridors and bathrooms smelled of smoke. This is not surprising since the hostel allows guests to eat and drink in the hostel. The hostel was lacking in atmosphere during my stay as there were very few guests. The receptionist said that there was a pub crawl at 10.30pm on Friday and Saturday night however at 10.30pm on Friday night there was no sign of any pub crawl. The showers have hot water but are not particularly clean. Definitely recommend showering with sandals. The rooms are cramped and don't seem to be cleaned. The cleaning lady in the morning simply threw out the rubbish. She never bothered cleaning the floor or the beds. The hostel is close the las ramblas nightlife however this area is not the cleanest.

Hostel staff was nice, mainly Alice from Belgium who worked the front desk was the best. Staff was flexible with laundry time & kitchen use time, which is essential when sightseeing all day. Other travelers I met were very friendly & nice. Pros: hairdryer  (not much power but it works), lockers that can only be open with your key card. Doors locked & only accessible by key card, very safe. Nice showers, great hot water & pressure. Washer & dryer worked well, didn't destroy my clothes. Dried everything well. Headroom on the bottom bunk was a plenty. Great Wi-Fi in room. Clean sheets, cleaning person was very nice & does a proper job. Location was perfect, 1-2 blocks from parallel station. Safe to walk at night. I stayed 5 nights. Very close to Blai for pintxos, a must! Cons: bathroom sinks does not have hot water. My room did not have heating, it was cold. But had a blanket. Kitchen is good, has a stove top, but doesn't have simple things like bowls, cups or many posts & glasses. It's time they restock the kitchen with such basics. Overall for 15 euro in the off season, this was a steal! I highly recommend! I will stay here next time and I will return to Barcelona!

Nice rooms, keycard for room and locker. Clean bathrooms, Air conditioning, lamp and wallsocket at each bed, Wi-Fi everywhere. Only the kitchen wasn't clean and doesn't have much utensils.

The private room here 302 is gorgeous! Fan, a/c and balcony. It is in a building next to the main hostel and the entrance is quite nice, up to the second floor through many doors and past other apartments. Great location.

Upon arrival here the staff was extremely helpful and friendly! They made us feel like this was a home away from home! This hostel is equipped with a decent kitchen, secure lockers, Wi-Fi in every room, heaps of ideas on what to do, free walking tours, AND breakfast! It honestly has everything you could possibly need. It is in a location that is prime for visiting all of the Barcelona attractions. We have rarely had to use the metro. There are supermarkets near by as well as great pubs and restaurants. As for cleanliness, there is a lady who cleans the building daily. I can't express how much I've enjoyed it here. We had originally booked a 8 dorm room and when we arrived they told us that it was in use but they gave us an even better deal and we have a 10 dorm all to ourselves! It has been great. There are outlets by each bed as well as a lamp. Showers and bathrooms aren't busy. You won't regret booking a room here! :)

A safe place, nice atmosphere… And the staff provides the best care. When you return to Barcelona, without doubt I stay there…

We were in the summer of 2013 in the Hostel Be Mar Dream in Badalona. Approximately 12 stations of Barcelona metro Tickets there are per trip for 2€ or for example, 10 trips for 9, 90€. The entrance area and at the bottom of the Lounge is super nice. Our room (Apartment) 213 was the Horror. Bathroom without window and without a fan, to say everywhere, mold in the bathroom. It was also in front of our room outside a construction site, and in the morning are construction workers there walked around. After we have complained, we have in a short time a new very nice room. However worked there the air conditioning not we wanted to but we are not again to complain and have it so accepted. The staff is nice and speak very good English. In the morning the Breakfast is very very simple, say a few Cornflakes and Toast a bit of jam and Butter. We have to keep us in the nearby supermarket for Breakfast bought, went well. The beach is about a 5-10min walk away and the absolute Hammer. Showers every 30 meters, as well as small Bars and a pizzeria. For about 5 days is optimal, however I can imagine that it is for the price right in Barcelona is just as good Hostel.

We went to the hostel Be Mar recommended by a friend who had been there, and it was much better than we had said! The place is in an inspiring location, the decoration of the hostel is great, connected with the sea! The rooms with comfortable beds and the staff great, especially Wouter, the guy Belgian! If I go back to Barcelona, it will be there without a doubt.

The staff is friendly and helpful, close to the Rambla although in a ' dodgy ' way. The ' suites ' are located in a detached building from the main one but are really just 2 steps from the Rambla, they are fairly spacious rooms with TVs and towels and linens. The value for money is great and we enjoyed it!
