Definitely the best place we stayed in Sri Lanka! The owners have created a small paradise in they beautiful garden with lots of animals! The room was very clean and comfortable. The owners are super friendly and helpful and the breakfast so far the best we had in Sri Lanka! Very nice location, next to the beach and the beautiful Coconuts' hill! We would love to keep in contact with the owners!
Really nice place to stay in Mirissa. Nice and clean rooms with beautiful garden view (lots of trees, they even have parrots and rabbits). Owner is really friendy and helpful. Location of the house is near the beach (3min walk) and close to shops, restaurants, bars… Totaly worth the money and will recommend to stay anybody.

We stayed for 3 nights at Kanthi Holiday Rest and experienced some of the kindest hospitality we enjoyed in Sri Lanka.
The homestay family was incredibly welcoming and their home is immaculately kept. The rooms were clean, the common area for guests was large and, as others have mentioned, the garden is beautiful with all sorts of pets.
We spent both our days attempting to whale watch and our final night was booked at the last minute when we returned from our second day of whale watching in the early evening. Our hosts insisted that this night was free as it was a last minute decision — a level of hospitality that went above and beyond, much more than was necessary.
The rooms do not have any air conditioning, and this may be problematic for some, but with the windows open, we found it manageable.
I would certainly recommend a stay at Kanthi Holiday Rest in the future to others who visit Mirissa.
