Reviews of Hotel tango reef 2*
I spent four days at the Tango Reef. It is located by the ocean fairly close to town. The breeze off the water is really nice and makes sitting on their patio very comfortable. It sits a block or so off the main road so it is quiet The staff are very cooperative and do everything they can to make the visit pleasant. The rooms are clean and large.
Our family stayed at Tango Reef 3 nights instead of 2 we planned. We got a spacious room with 2 big and really comfortable beds, non AC, lets say hot but it wasn't really as hot as you could expect reading some reviews. The attached bathroom was comfortable, and big enough, water was really hot all the time and the whole place is very clean. Ask for a good price and you we'll get it. Yes, it is unfinished at the moment, only ground floor is ready so its more guesthouse than bigger hotel — just 3 or 4 rooms. For us it wasn't a real problem though. There is a Wi-Fi free working well for local standards. The only thing I can criticise is total lack of furniture in rooms — just beds. Some wardrobe would be useful…
It's really close to town center and just one minute walk to the beach — from our room we could see palm trees and ocean.
And the most important thing for us was that the owner of the place, Wasanthe, was extremely, truly friendly and really helpful in critical situation that happened to us. On first day of our stay I had an accident on the beach — I've sprained my knee quite seriously and couldn't walk. I was really scared, especially travelling with family — my wife and three children and being responsible for all of us. Wasanthe immediately offered his help, next morning when I was sure that it's necessary he took me to local hospital by his tuk-tuk, helped me with all procedures and next 2 days he was always eager to help, taking care of us.

We stayed 3 nights along the way to Kandy and we enjoyed our stay so much. The manager pampered us with great hospitality at The Tango Reef. Beach is just in front of the Resort.
