Our room was beautiful! It was completely stocked with everything that we needed. And to be able to see the beach and hear the waves made it perfect!
It’s also within walking distance of everything we like to do while visiting Carlsbad. Thank you to Michael and the housekeeping staff for making it a great vacation!

Highly recommend and I feel like o have a friend with Michael the manager. This is where I’ll continue to stay when I visit my daughter. He is amazing! :) )

Staying at this hotel is always a great experience, thanks to the friendly staff. I travel here frequently for work and look forward to each visit because of the excellent service. From check-in to check-out, the staff's warmth and professionalism make me feel at home.

This is an excellent place to stay! The facilities are very clean and comfortable. The staff was extremely welcoming and prompt with requests. Sharina at the front desk was lovely and Michelle in maintenance was extemely responsive. Everyone we encountered there was gracious! I would choose this hotel again without hesitation!

My wife and I spent two nights in the Shady Lady room of the Wikiup Hummingbird Hotel. The space and property is so very charming and cozy. The room was just enough for us and we especially enjoyed the fireplace. We also very much loved the private wooden hot tub on the balcony outside the room. It make for amazing evenings soaking in the wood burning tub at sunset. I also have to say that the owner Chris was very friendly and responsive to us. He is such a wonderful host.

We had an amazing stay that surpassed our expectations! We came for our wedding weekend and stayed in the Shady Lady. It was even more charming and beautiful than in the photos, and the patio hot tub was so lovely. It was a perfect and relaxing way to end our wedding night.
The bed was super comfortable, the decor was adorable, and we loved feeding the llamas and goats! We took almost as many photos with them as we took at our wedding lol.

I went this past weekend for a facial, massage and pedicure. Everything was absolutely wonderful and everyone was so nice and friendly. The Spa is incredibly clean and relaxing. They have a beautiful room and outdoor courtyard you can wait and relax in while enjoying fresh fruit, tea and water. They also have complimentary both bombs you can take with you. Both ladies at the front desk were very nice and greeted me with a sincere smile.

Beatiful, quiet, upscale bungalow-style hotel. The rooms could use some updating and maintenance, but the location more than makes up for it. It's on the pricy end of the spectrum, as to be expected in this community.

This place is a hidden gem. The rooms are always clean, quiet and have all the amenities you need. Parking is not a problem, breakfast is great and the staff members are always polite and at your service. James R.

The rooms were clean and seemed to be pretty cozy. The towel rack was a little loose in our room and kept falling apart when we placed towels on it. The door needed to be slammed shut otherwise it wouldn't close all the way. The breakfast was a decent breakfast and had at least the basics. The bed was extremely comfortable and it's a close drive to the San Diego Safari Park.

As we entered the Inn, the stress of our long travel day melted away. Our delightful host Liz greeted us and offered us a glass of wine. The decor was done beautifully and presented as a beautiful peaceful oasis. Every morning we had a delicious breakfast and wonderful conversation. The bed was the most comfortable bed I’ve slept on in years. Our room had a beautiful walk out private patio with lovely landscaping.

Nice place and really kind and friendly hosts. Breakfasts were amazing! In no time, Liz & Carol were like family to us. They let us prepare tea by ourselves, whenever we needed. Checked if we got home safely even after we checked out. We hope to see you again one-day Carol & Liz!

I returned last week after staying here in 2023, and will stay here again next year. The room was spacious, filled with light, contemporary, and perfect. Everything is thoughtfully sustainable, made from natural fibers and everything needed is provided. The breakfasts are delicious and fresh and the coffee is equally delicious. A delight to call this home for my 5 day yearly trips to Encinitas.

Twelve Senses is a true hidden gem. The attention to detail is amazing, from the complimentary Prosecco and home made cookies to the sustainable room elements and boutique design touches. The roof deck is lovely and fantastic breakfast is a wonderful addition to the stay. Best of all is the friendly owner Anke and her friend Meaghan who felt like long lost friends despite meeting them for the first time. All in all an awesome retreat to relax and recharge.

My husband and I stayed here for a quick getaway from San Diego, and we were certainly able to unwind and reset while staying at this cute and quiet hotel. Robin was extremely helpful and responsive and the surroundings were beautiful. And you can’t beat the price! We are looking forward to coming back again during warmer weather so that we can use the nice saltwater pool!

My husband and I and our small dog stayed here last month. It was fantastic! The room was very clean and nicely furnished. I would have liked to unpack my clothes into a dresser, but it didn't really matter because everything else was so great. The self check in and keyless doors are brilliant.
If you forget anything there is a community cupboard outside with sunscreen, bandaids and other items.
Each room has a small table and chairs outside the door.

The timeshare is right at the beach walking distance to the pier; restaurants and shops. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Anytime I see this come up as an exchange I snag it looking forward to my next visit 11/2025.

The stay was lovely, service was wonderful and we loved how close to the beach we were. The unhoused were quite loud at night and visibly drinking and doing drugs. It made opening the window to enjoy the ocean air impossible for 3 nights in a row.

This was our first time here, but it won't be our last. We came up here to go to the wolf sanctuary, but ended up enjoying our room as well. It was quiet and peaceful. It is close to town, but not in town so it is not crowded. Our room had a little patio off to the side with chairs and a shady oak. They have a cute little pool that we were able to enjoy all to ourselves. We had a clean room and a soft bed. The owners were real friendly too. We will definitely be back.

Can't say enough to explain how much I love this place. I love this town and have since I was a kid, But getting the experience to stay the night in this quaint Inn was the sprinkles on my cupcake. Perfect setting on a hillside, Bill and Magda have done such a great job at "keeping it real". So welcoming, comfy, quiet, and peaceful. Steps into town, hidden gem, That I just can't wait to get back to.
