Good price, clean, convenient location, what more could you ask for?

The cheapest hotel in the neighborhood, well located to visit SF, Super neighborhood, normally a parking space, the basic layout of a motel, on the other hand the lunch is not great.

It's alright from the last time I spent there but that was proximately 20 years ago. The gentleman that work there were kind of rude but that's not the word I'm looking for. It's like they've never seen a woman travel by herself. But the ladies that work there are pretty nice.

It's a place to stay. Not much more or less than that. Picked this hotel because of free parking and location. Room was extremely small but functional and semi-clean. Great location to pick up a bus to go to the pier or transfer to street & cable cars. Very thin walls and didn't sleep much because of other noisy guests but would probably stay again. Breakfast was coffee, muffins and donuts, but convenience store and coffee shop right across the street.

The only advantage of this motel is the location. For the rest is to forget: noises of neighbors and the street as if you were on the sidewalk. Very friendly staff. Rooms with shabby bedding. The door is the window with such lights that practically you see the sun. Worst motel I've ever attended in California.

I find this hotel too expensive for what it offers, the only good point is the location of this hotel.

Clean enough. The "breakfast" consists of some fruit (apple or banana) of packaged snacks or brioches of poor quality and coffee.

Terrible place where nothing works — not the key card, not the phone, not the heater. The shower leaks, the advertised "free breakfast" is a pot of coffee with some muffins with no table or chairs. The staff does not care. One star rating is generous.

The hotel has deteriorated. Devastation and decline. I'm not coming back.

The location to the pier is relatively good I would say. You can be at Pier 39 in about 25 minutes. The rooms are clean. Nice check-in. The shower is really suboptimally built. The door is not suitable at all and you can't close it. As if you had simply grown a wrong one. As a result, almost the entire bath was under water. The bed was comfortable. Price/performance for San Francisco very good. You definitely get worse for more money. Free parking is available.

Horrible Place. The only good thing is the location. I know San Francisco is expensive but pay a little more and go to a place where at least you can give 3 stars.

Nice motel to those who travel on a budget. Pros: close to the main seaside boulevard, very kind and helpful staff. Cons: breakfast is just a snack.

Black mold in windows and bath, dry rot under carpet in front of bathroom door. Sundries and towels lacking. Breakfast is a joke and not available at 9:30am. The bed was comfortable.

Surprisingly well kept inside compared to the outside. Really nice, recently remodeled bathrooms. Very minimal parking, though.

Comfortable and affordable place to spend the night. Very close to the Fisherman's wharf. There are some kitchen appliances on each room so you can prepare your own food.

The room is clean, the bathroom also. Unfortunately, the door from the shower does not close properly, so the floor is all wet. For the price but recommended.

The young lady at the front desk, I'm not sure of her name, best describe as about 23 years of age. Indian decindent is totally rude unprofessional, her only answer to any of our problem was do you want a refund. Never did anything to slove our problem… she need to be fired… she has no guest service skill and a stone heart.

I was pleasantly surprised with this place. It's a refurbished motel that is very nice. I picked it because it was the cheapest place with decent ratings. The couple that runs the place are pretty friendly. The free breakfast is just some food on the counter. You have to take the breakfast back to your room. But there are three cafes across the street, so there are many breakfast options. The rooms are clean and modernized.

Seems like a reasonable motel, but San Francisco prices are way to high when compared with other locations we have stayed at! Despite offering free breakfast, it's very basic and for $300/n should offer a better b/fast deal. Stayed 3 nights and no extra toiletries were provided beyond the 1st night, and lastly the Wi-Fi service seems v slow compared to other motels. All in all OK but overpriced.

Clean, good location, comfy beds. Breakfast was pastries. Near a main road but noise was not noticeable when trying to sleep. Nothing special though you get what you pay for.

Great location for what we were looking to do. Free parking in a lot that's very lit up at night. Rooms are old school and the walls are paper thin. Otherwise, the price we paid for what we got, compared to other hotels, was great.

Valid and at the right price.

First… I reserved a room for $132 and was charged $75 more when I got there… and was unable to cancel because I must cancel 48 hrs. Before, or still be charged. Second… For a $200 room, I would expect to have nice furniture. Not some raggedy old peeling furniture, half/different colored painted walls in bathroom, and semi/non cooling air conditioning! Third… You should be more honest with reserving guests and advice them about the construction being done on your property and street. I don't appreciate being waken at 8 AM by jack hammers! Fourth… and finally I shouldn't have to be the one to tell your guests over and over again, to NOT be smoking in front of MY window or hot air blowing air conditioner, that is YOUR JOB! If you are going to let guests smoke on your property, reserve an area for them far AWAY from your NON-SMOKING advertised rooms!

Great hotel, nice people and the rooms are clean and nice but do not rely on thr breakfast ot is very minimal other then that the hotel is great.

Crappy mote. Broken showers. Free parking good location. Paid 89, wouldn't pay 200 that's so crazy go to a best Western.

My husband was bitten by bed bugs so many times that we went to check out at 2am. They offered us a "free" room upgrade and we were exhausted so we took it. The second room (apparently their luxury suite) also had bed bugs thank God we checked before laying down this time! As we were walking out, I noticed they had charged me for BOTH rooms! The response was "well you did enter room, correct? " I was fuming! Best part? We brought back cockroaches! To add, the soda machine didn't work, the ice machine gave a yellowish colored ice and there was a strong smell of urine in the back stairwell. It turns out that smell is from the homeless man they let stay back there! Yay! I got a $400 bill and beg bugs and a homeless man gets free rent. Thank God our flight was early enough for us to be able to spend the remainder of the night at the airport. Disgusted!

Motel correct, its advantage is mainly its free parking and its location just 10 minutes walk from Pier 39.
If you take a taxi back from Union Square in the evening you have to count around 15USD.

Bad reception, we got the wrong one day on our internet booking. Unable to move the day of arrival. We had to pay one more night while the hotel was not full…

The worst hotel experience of my life! I have left some personal things in my room and sent few emails to the hotel intstantly after check out — I just wanted to order a courier shipping for my things. Since 6 days no reaction, my emails will be just ignored — very humiliatingly for a hotel, I'm more than disappointed. To the hotel — there is trash in the hotel court, the rooms are very small and dark, in need of renovation (like the whole hotel) and it's noisy in the night. As we have turned the air conditioner it has stinked of burnt hairs in the whole room. The key cards don't work proper, it's very difficult to open the door of the room and it was not only in our room so, our neighbors had the same trouble. The breakfast will be served directly in the small reception room (about 9m² incl. Reception) with only two chairs, without tables. The breakfast includes: croissants, muffins, bananas, yogurts, coffee and tee — that's all. I would never recommend this hotel to someone, even for this price.

Location is good and it includes parking! Although sometimes hard to park since there are more rooms than parking spots. The room is OK, can be cleaner. The room has a weird smell, I think it was the carpet. Overall I'd give it 3 stars as service and rooms can be better, but if you are only using the room to sleep and shower it's good enough, especially for the price!

The best of this motel is where. It is very close to many attractions including the Cable Cars, and Fisherman's Wharf. The rooms are comfortable but old folks and smell to saved. Breakfast includes only coffee, croissants, muffins, and fruit. For the price including the Park I can not complain.

Room is nice, beds are comfortable and clean. Location is amazing, a short walk to many tourist attractions and restaraunts. Inn is also on a bus line for East transportation.

Needs updating. It sufficed for a one night stay, but there was damge to the tub and gaps in the doorway. Staff is kind enough. The hotel faces a busy street so there is a moderate noise, but I felt it was tolerable. Very close to many sites in SF.

It's Okey to be for a short time or use just to sleep. A/C with warming function. About the localization for me is one of the best in SF, far from the crowed area but close by foot for Pier 39. If use Bay Street and Van Ness it will help you to avoid big hills.

I loved the location and the free parking. The room was decent. The inn was rated as a 3-star, but was definitely a 2 star. My only real complaint was the bathroom was kind of gross and there was no hot water. Barely warm water came out. I was freezing when I got out of the shower and had to warm up by standing by the heater. Knowing this I probably won't stay there again. I give this place 2 out 5 stars.

I figured I would write a review because I had a very nice 2-night stay (Wednesday to Friday) at this motel. Due to other reviews (if your stay is bad, obviously you'll write about it), I was leery about choosing this hotel, but I'm glad I did! It was very close to Fisherman's Wharf and Lombard Street. The staff was very nice and easy to get along with. In addition, my room was comfortable and clean! I checked everywhere for bugs and found none. Although a bit small, it had enough amenities (microwave, fridge, hair dryer, etc. ) and free Wi-Fi. Awesome diner across the street, and nearby bus stops for those who don't mind public transit. If you're traveling solo, this inn and its location is perfect. I gave it 4/5 because it could use a renovation soon.

If you looking for something you can afford at the same day for some days this is the places its no fancy but good people and also big rooms for fit a big group. Do not think I came here in the first place I was looking around but the prices every were they was too crazy just because we need it like emergency its not affair take advantage of that I mean this is a good place for the good price even check the location its good.

Bad clening,, slipery floor, glass isnt clean, nowhere to put things, nowhere to hang things, clerk charged us more than we could have gotten online, Wi-Fi bearly woorks, small rooms, loud outisde (first night someone called the police), got blocked in parking by someone else. Price is way too high for the quality.

Horrible place, nasty. I'll never stay there again. Changed my rooms 3 times and all was horrible. I only stayed there because there Were No other rooms No Were else. And the fact that they had so many rooms open I should have seen the red flags Lol.

America's Best Inn San Francisco should be SHUT DOWN. It is not safe for anyone. We were robbed during the night while we were sleeping. We woke up and chased the intruder but he got away with my wallet and my daughter's i-pod. She was terrified. She is still having nightmares and will likely need therapy. He could have just as easily raped her and killed us both. There was no night lock on the door, hasn't been for years judging from the painted over screw holes. He was able to open the window, reach in and open the door. He was obviously familiar with the hotel property. He knew that the attendant was not at the front desk and the security cameras did not work. The attendant would not even call the police, we had to call. Never an apology or even acknowledgement that it happened by any of the staff. No one would even give me the name of the owner or manager. I have stayed in many hotels and this is the most dis-reputable owner I have ever encountered. Go to (trip advisor) to check out the 37 terrible reviews on this hotel. Certainly, if America's Best Franchising inspects these places on an annual basis, as they say they do, they would have seen these, and many other flagrant violations of their Core Values. Vijay Patel should not be allowed to own any hotel! Additional flaws were, shorted and unsafe electric outlet at vanity; mold in shower;piles of trash next to stairway; motion sensor lights don't stay on long enough to brush your teeth or take a shower.

Staff was friendly, but the "hotel" was more of a motel. Dark, worn out, could hear the neighbours. All wall outlets was worn out so I had to propp up my iPhone charger so I would not fall out of the socket. Way to pricy for what you get.
