4* Star Hotels in Chicago Loop

Art Deco themed hotel, very Chicago. Hotel located around everything — near trains, 2 blocks form Millennium Park, Mag Mile and everything. Great location. Rooms were comfortable and big. High ceilings and clean. No ice machine, they take too long to bring you ice, plan in advance. Extra $15 for destination fees (basically the water bottles in your room). Friendly staff. Would stay again because it’s centralized and nice. Wish they had a pool though.

Clean, comfortable rooms. Most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept on (YMMV). Staff is very friendly and helpful. Good location to nearby boutiques and restaurants. Best hotel off of the Mile that I've stayed at.

Good location relative to downtown and to the train stations. Outdoor area is under construction but open again.

I have enjoyed a few good meals here before seeing a performance at Lyric Opera. The menu features mostly standard steak-and-seafood fare with unique (but not weird) presentations. I had an excellent salmon, and my wife's sea bass had a nice peppery crust to it. Prices are about what you'd expect for an upscale place in the Loop. Staff are friendly and professional.

Pros: Gorgeous hotel is an architectural landmark in Chicago — it's triangular! Excellent views of the river and super comfy beds. They're a super green hotel, so you can get $10 for every day you skip linen service. Cons: the elevators are not very efficient, the room door was super tight, and there was no makeup towel for my wife.

This is by far my most favorite place to stay in Chicago. I'm here at least once a year. The staff are extremely courteous and helpful. The rooms are beautiful and with gorgeous views. Very convenient location for access to the waterfront, Navy Pier, Michigan Avenue, and a number of other areas.

This is a great hotel and very close to the river area. It's only a ten minute walk or so to millennium Park and plenty of things to see in between. If you are coming to eat in Chicago or see a show in Chicago this is the place to stay. The elevators are a bit slow and the there are no views, but those are the only cons in my experience. Service is excellent all around. The room size is fine. Bed is comfortable although I did not care for the pillows. Bathroom is updated and clean.

There was a time when the name Kimpton meant that you'd have a 5-star stay, but that no longer seems to be the case. It's still a great hotel, but not what it once was… And it's just little things, small attentions to detail such as: we requested 3 extra pillows, but 2 were delivered, and the ice bucket didn't contain a plastic liner bag, and the hallway outside our room was being vacuumed at 8 AM. There's also better areas to stay in, this area is dead after 11PM.

Great hotel with excellent views of the park and the lake. Room sizes are fine. Bed is very comfortable. The Irish pub on the ground floor is excellent especially the live music. Parking can he done close by with ample selections on offer. Couple of improvement point: — house keeping didn't make up my room on 2 days of my 5 night stay — TV reception was patchy.

Staff was nice from check-in. Quite efficient. Elevators are plenty and staggered by floors, so reaching the 25th floor was quick. Rooms were quiet. We got a lake view double room. It was nice to wake up to the sun coming up over Lake Michigan. Supposedly booked two queen beds, but apparently Hilton queens are more full size. We ended up getting a roller for one of my two kids.

The Essex Inn is an interesting hotel. The rooms are not great. Everything you can tell is a little old, and not in the charming way. There is also no bar attached to the hotel. Having said that, the staff was one of the best and most helpful that I've encountered and the location of the hotel is fantastic. If you're looking for a cheaper hotel in Chicago and don't mind a slightly below average room situation, the Essex is a pretty good option.

The hotel is absolutely centrally located and you can explore the city wonderfully. My room was very clean, modern and perfectly adequate for my needs. Tv and wlan.

Everything was perfect and convenient. Shopping is walking distance. We have several choices to dine in without leaving the hotel. Staff was friendly. The rooftop view was ahmazing. Dining at Ocean Prime on New Year’s Eve was beautiful. We will be back. You will not be disappointed if you book a stay here. My husband and I booked for 2 nights.

Elena, was the point person and she was communicative, organized, supportive, and just wonderful.
The Chef was great, everyone kept complementing the food.
The space was beautiful for our 82 person event.
The Solarium, Marbel Hallway, and Ballroom were all just memorable spaces.
The hotel also hosted our Rehearsal Dinner which may have been the best meal I have had.

Have you ever thought about staying in a hotel literally in your neighborhood just to see what kind of features and amenities it has to recommend it to future family members. That's what I did I got the chance to stay here to attend a friend's wedding and decided to just stay the night even though I live less than 5 minutes away 😊 This hotel did not disappoint The rooms were clean, spacious, modern had everything you need to have a comfortable night.

We stayed for 3 nights and loved it. We were in an executive king suite. The bedroom had huge windows on two sides, with amazing views of the city. The bed was really comfortable with 2 duvets. The room was well equipped with everything you'd expect, but there were loads of extras like a welcome drink, free coffee and afternoon treats, a refillable water bottle and bikes (with helmets). We had a good breakfast in the onsite restaurant. The fitness room was small but adequate.

Love staying at this place. Unique feel in a hotel — they still use actual keys to open the doors! Love the view of the Chicago Theatre from some of the rooms. Note they are a dog friendly hotel so you may hear some pets while staying here, though I’ve never been disrupted while sleeping.

The place was different every nook and cranny catches your attention. Artistic vibe but not over done you feel like home away from home… Stafff was absolutely amazing. Heard cheering in the morning coming from what I believe to be the office high fives all over. One of the best experiences I have ever had ever! Forgot to mention breakfast was outstanding!

CITIZEN M has a very cool design, very modern and hip culture. The location was A++ near bus stop and the center of the loop. The rooms were a bit on the smaller side but had everything you needed. The iPad was fun to play. Great overall stay. Will def visit again.
