Bayview rooms are boss! Microwave and fridge is awesome. Friendly staff. 2 blocks to waterfront and Santa Fe Depot!

Great location close to the bay. Beautiful view from the little balcony (we were on the 9th floor). Super comfy bed, clean room, nice pool and hot tub. Hotel was doing their best with breakfast during covid providing microwavable grab bags but they were awful. Jimmy Dean frozen sandwiches, burritos or yogurt with water. Orange juice and a granola bar. I would definitely stay here again but I'd bring my own breakfast until the covid restrictions are resolved!

Everything was perfect! And close walk to Little Italy.

My son and I, stayed here and it was great the city view was awesome and amazing. We will be back.

Being a travel agent I would not recommend this hotel, there is no bathroom ventilation fan, when your getting ready it is unbearable, especially when you have to blow dry your hair. When we arrived the air was off in the room so it was about 80 degrees in the room when we arrived. We had to be moved to another room after two days of complaining about our room smelling like weed and having a one year old daughter it was not acceptable. I will say the manager was nice and finally after two days of complaining she did switch our rooms and gave me a refund for our parking. I would pay the extra money and stay at another hotel close by not a good experience I had staying here.

Pull up and the engineer is out and greeted us. Went in to see if a room was ready it was at 13:00 and on the check in there was a sign with me and others welcoming us here. Very cool to us.

This place has it all: thoughtful amenities, friendly, wonderful bath products, great view, and good room service.

Excellent service, rooms very comfortable and comfortable, I recommend it quite well.

Clean rooms. Close to great food and only an 18 minute walk to the Midway.

I have not stayed at this hotel but I have eaten at their Bayside bar and grill and have every intention to book a stay here one day. The staff in the restaurant attached to the hotel offer the best customer service I have ever seen or received they make you feel welcomed and are very friendly and accommodating. They put the customers first and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and because of them I will be booking my next stay in San Diego at the Best Western.

Staff was customer service oriented. Beds were comfortable. In the heart of downtown and minutes away from old time, little Italy Coronado Island, beaches. I had a blast and plenty to do. I was able to hop any direction I chose to. The carpets need to be cleaned, otherwise perfect.

Nice location. Can see some of the bay depending on your room. Easy to walk down to bay and little Italy. Not a far walk from bus and transit station. Very clean and updated hotel. Hotel was built in early 80s but doesn't look or feel like it. They will reimburse you 15 dollars for your taxi from the airport (make sure you get a receipt from the taxi driver). The breakfast is very good. Be sure to wake up earlier or you will have to wait for a table because the restaurant is a bit small. Friendly counter staff. Great for families.

Located in downtown, right next to Little Italy, not far from the shoreline. Room was big and comfortable. Self parking costs only $18/day, which is definitely convenient and cheap, considering the area. Parking spaces are best suited to compact or mid size vehicles. Pool and Jacuzzi were pretty nice, although the position of the pool is such that the water doesn't warm up enough. Breakfast was included : pretty standard choices, nothing exceptional. I'll definitely consider going there again next time I go to San Diego.

Good location. Clean. Very comfortable beds and pillows. Only 2 elevators but they go fast. Good breakfast selection. Only downfall is the parking spaces are very tight in the parking garage. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here back in March for a week. The room was clean and modern enough my only complaint was you could not control the temperature of the room but we had a balcony and beautiful southern California weather so it is what it is. Breakfast was decent nice staff free parking beautiful view. Was close enough to walk to a few places and a Dennys for late night nachos.

CLEAN, COMFORTABLE QUALITY CHOICE The hotel is well-located near the harbour front and transportation. The staff are welcoming and professional. The breakfast was of the high quality we expect with BW+ facilities. The view from our 12th floor window looking down to the harbour never disappointed. It could be said we left our hearts in San Diego and the Bayside was a part of that experience.

Clean comfortable room. I loved the views from our balcony. The breakfast had something for everyone. It was very good.

The hotel was great. Carpeting in the room was a little worn. However it was kept spotlessly clean and it was furnished with a fridge and microwave which is always handy when you're traveling. We stayed for a week and greatly enjoy the hot tub and the pool. Those staff was friendly and helpful although many were a little difficult to communicate with as English wasn't their first language. We at the hotel shuttle both ways to and from the airport it was clean friendly and on time unlike the airlines who were cramped and consistently late making us miss all connections and spend many frustrating hours in airports all across North America trying to get home to Nova Scotia.

This is a great hotel. Friendly staff and great service. The complimentary breakfast was fresh and all staff were very helpful. Location is great. Super close to Little Italy and within walking distance to the trolleys and the harbour.

This hotel is in a perfect location for those looking to enjoy the city, beach and parks. The parking is within the building, so there are no issues there. The pool and hot tub were nice. Rooms are very clean and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. House keeping is very generous with towels and toiletries. Would defiantly stay again.

Hotel in central area, two steps from the Maritime Museum and the Uss Midway, in full Downtown connected well with public transport. Breakfast served in the room next to excellent quality hotel with plenty of choice. Clean and spacious rooms, WI fi available throughout the hotel.

Good price/quality. Distance to San Diego Convention Center is good and it's not one of the very expensive hotels during these conventions. The sales staff is professional and very helpful.

We really loved the Bayside Inn! It is right downtown San Diego and close to Little Italy area. We enjoyed eating at the Bayside restaurant in the evening and had a great breakfast buffet in the morning. The hot tub was warm and great in the evening under the stars! The staff goes out of their way to be sure we had everything that we needed, and arranged a shuttle to our Harbor boat tour for us. It was really appreciated!

I was very happy with my visit. Moderate priced, with very nice appointments. About 3 blocks to Little Italy, and 4 to Bay waterfront. Courtyard pool. Super clean and comfortable room. Will stay in future. This part of SD is very built up so don't be surprised, it's City like.

Great place to sleep. Staff were friendly and helpful. Airport shuttle was much appreciated. Complimentary breakfast buffet included pancakes, eggs, ham, muffins, oranges, apples, cereal, yogurt and juice. Fast internet came with room. The neighborhood seemed rough, but the hotel was safe and clean.

Clean rooms, comfortable beds, great location. The only complaint I'd have is that the employee at the front desk could have been a little more friendly. She checked us in quickly and seemed good at her job but was cold and matter of fact. Just seems when you're the first person your customers meet to represent your hotel you'd be smiling, friendly and welcoming. She didn't even tell us how to get to our room. We had to ask. We'd definitely come here again… just that that piece of the experience could have been better.

One of the fanciest Best Westerns I have stayed at. Nice (free) breakfast buffet option with cereals, pastries, pancakes/waffles and drinks. The hotel was reasonably quiet and the staff was helpful. We would stay here again.

Excellent service as always from best western. Good sized rooms. Cheaper parking compared to the rest. Clean soft beds and a very friendly staff. The breakfast was free and had all the necessities. Will recommend this establishment everytime.

Very professional, good service, very good food, the rooms are very big and nice, everything is very serca and I like the bars in Pacific Beach.

This is an affordable hotel in a great location. It was so easy to just walk down to the bay. For dinner, Little Italy is a quick walk down India Street. If you need to go anywhere else, just have the front desk call you a cab. There is also the trolley. The Santa Fe station is only 5 minutes away.

The hotel is located in a very central location and I would stay there again. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the hotel was clean and very appropriate. The room was very clean (had frig and mircowave) and the bed was very comfortable. I really liked being so close to Little Italy and walked a couple of easy blocks for dinner. There were also several bars very close as well as a deli/market and a Rite Aid was a block away. I walked over to the pier, which is about 3 blocks away and enjoyed the bay view. I took the free shuttle back to the airport and the driver was very helpful.

Every morning we were cheerfully served by Isabelle and Eduardo in the restaurant with a stellar complimentary buffet breakfast that offered lots of quality food with variety. Thank you! Our rooms were cleaned in a flexible timely manner, and the friendly front desk staff helped us every time we called or came by to inquire. The pool was fresh and inviting and the room service was amazing at no extra charge. What a great week in San Diego at the Bayside :)

Perfect place for stay. The location is close enough to downtown. Convenient to get a MTS transit to Old town, or Gaslamp district. The breakfast is great, and service is courteous and friendly. Rooms are nice and cozy, and have a great view of the marina. The staff is friendly, and airport shuttle service is a plus.

The hotel was really nice. It was very clean and the staff were friendly and courteous. The only hiccup was they did not leave us any washcloths or soap for two nights.

Stayed at the best western plus Bayside for 2 nights while visiting San Diego. Location is excellent, perfect for the gaslamp district, little Italy and the harbour front Staff were very friendly and helpful. They stored our luggage and arranged a shuttle to the airport (complimentary service of the hotel. ) Breakfast being included was also a nice bonus, it's good to fill you up before setting out on a days exploring. A selection of cereals, yoghurt and pastries. Also available was a selection of hot dishes for example scrambled egg and pancakes. The rooms were nice, nothing to flash but comfortable and clean. There was a TV, fridge and coffee maker. Plus other standard features such as hairdryer, iron, shampoo and soap products. The hotel had a quite modern feel to it and it looked like some of the floors were getting renovated when we stayed. There is a pool and fitness suite which we didn't use however they did look like good facilities. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here.

Recently remodeled and looks good from a distance. Clean, and decent free breakfast at adjacent cafe. Windows don't seal so all city noises come in 24/7. Low water pressure on upper floors, shower heads have been modified for people less than 5' tall. Staff was nice and with some work, this could be an outstanding property.

Simple and Spartan Hotel for a few days in San Diego, parking as in all Hotels you Pay (€18) not particularly excelled in something but all simple, the staff are friendly, the location "convenient" but the car should be taken in any case.

It was very close to the airport.

The hotel was nice enough and the breakfast was good but about the same items each morning. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. We did however have problem at check in and check out. The air conditioner didn't work so we had to change rooms after unpacking. The room attendant didn't put new towels in the bath on 3 days. Our room key expired after 2 days of a 5 day stay.

The room were great close to water front and close to little Italy. Great breakfast buffet good size rooms free Wi-Fi,,, one down fall is they charge you for handicap parking, parking is 18.00 a day so that would be over 200.00$ a day don't think that it is worth the price.

I try to make reservations on their website but does not offer the special rate I need, so I call the reservation # listed on the Best Western Bayside Inn web page. The woman helps me and all is good until I am charged $40 more than the quoted price. Figure it because they need to see my credentials when I arrive and they will reimburse me when I get there… this doesn't happen (and the woman at the desk is a see you next Tuesday kind of bitch). They refuse to reimburse me because I used a booking company, not Best Western, to get the room; remember, I called the number that was on the BW web site. Ended up having to call corporate who tells me my reservation is fine, double room (requested king size), $106/night — WTF? (I was charged $179/night — $73 overcharge). She tells me that she will call me back. Calls me back, hotel decides to give me a "free" upgrade (when that is what I paid for in the first place) and a bay view (so what) what I wanted to be refunded the difference in room prices. Wouldn't do not because I called a booking company. When I explain that I called the number on the web site, she didn't care "we don't honor/recognize outside booking companies prices. " I tried telling her that if BW list a number on their website as being the number to call if you need help booking a room, then BW must honor those prices… she wasn't going to have any of it. Neither was I, obviously.

My husband, two year old daughter and I stayed at the Best Western Plus Bayside Inn last March to spend the weekend in San Diego and visit the zoo. Overall the hotel was nice but had a lot of renovations going on which made it uncomfortable. The pool area was closed off due to the renovations and the free breakfast had to be served at a café next door instead of at the hotel. The breakfast itself was very good with a lot of variety to choose from. One day they served pancakes, eggs and sausage and the next day they had eggs benedict and bacon. In addition they also had a variety of breads, muffins, rice, ramen noodles, fresh fruits, dry cereal, oatmeal packets, oj, apple juice, milk and coffee. It was nice to be able to sit at an actual restaurant and the servers were very friendly and didn’t mind my two year old running around. Parking at the Best Western is awful. There is no elevator access so when you park in the parking structure it is advised to unload your luggage first then proceed to find parking. Entry to the parking structure is very tight and was blocked by a huge tour bus when we arrived. The lobby area and reception was quite small and under a lot of construction. We stayed in a two queen bay view nonsmoking room. The room was very spacious with a small couch and coffee table in addition to the dining table. There was plenty of room for our two year to run around and play.

It was fine as a budget hotel. People were nice, room was simple and clean. The location was not exactly downtown, but it made an even better sky view available. It has a small sized out door swimming pool and even gym. Early APR, there was a big remodeling work on the main lobby. And, it supplied paper cups. I asked for a mug and got more paper cups. If you want to save the earth, please put some mugs instead of paper cups.

I have been staying at the BW Bayside for just 15 minutes, and I am disappointed. At no point during or after my reservation did Best Western make it known that I would be staying at a construction site. Sure, I'm all for renovations to keep up with the latest interior design trends, but there was no effort made to make the hotel the slightest but presentable during construction. This also caused the way to enter the hotel lobby to be very convoluted and counterintuitive. New construction aside, here are some other reasons that have caused my displeasure: — I was denied the use of an elevator from my car in the garage to the ground floor. Hauling my heavy luggage down the flights of stairs was cumbersome and unsafe.
— The exit door from the garage stairwell was almost completely blocked by scaffolding. I had to maneuver my body in an unnecessary way just to get out onto the sidewalk.
— I was denied the use of the hotel pool by more scaffolding. A nice swim would be nice.
— The obnoxiously bright LED lightbulbs used throughout the hotel room make it feel like I am surrounded by a series of bug zappers. I need to use the one and only incandescent bulb in the hallway to see and not get blinded. I expect to hear back from Worst Western immediately with a response to my complaints; otherwise, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Nice hotel, friendly, clean, we stay in the top floors looking at the ses, what a wonderful view especially on sunset.

Clean rooms, friendly staff, good location and free breakfast (in the building next door). Lower floors' view of the water is blocked by other buildings. Small, but clean pool area. Lobby is preparing for a remodel which it is due for. Paying for parking is annoying but not exclusive to this hotel. "Business center" is a computer in the hallway in a corner and kept freezing up on me. Overall a good place to stay.

I stayed here three with my son years ago. Hotel staffs were very kind. The location was near to the airport, the zoo and the SeaWorld. I had a great stay.

Nice walk to the cruise terminal.

Location is great. Walk to the trolley, little italy and the Harbor. The only times we talked to the staffs at the front desk, was when we checked in and out. We had no problem. The room was spacious for us with our toddler and 6yo. Beautiful downtown view. Internet and complimentary breakfast, the quality of the food wasn't that bad as I read from other reviews. Other nice place to get Breakfast is just across the street @ a French restaurant on India str. Nice crepes! Bunch of restaurants around. The bad thing about the hotel is the parking space very small you can barely pull out of your spot. It's doable since its temporary and it's downtown. There's a meter parking on the street. Use your AAA for discount. If you have little kids get the double queen room. Will stay here again hopefully it keeps getting better.
