A little loud with all the kids running down the hallways at 730 am on 4th floor. But gorgeous hotel and nice staff. Rooms need a bit of wiping down or just better housecleaning. Piped piper was way too long of s wait but drink was good. Need a convenient store for in room necessities. But beautiful hotel and enjoyed location.

Excellent old schoool hotel with a fantastic ambience. The central area is a beautiful place to hang out. It’s on Market so close to everything in SF. The pied piper bar oozes class. Amazing service from very friendly people. One of my favourite hotels in the US.

Kudos to the incredible staff who went above and beyond! They really took the experience from wonderful to extraordinary. The hotel itself is a historic marvel. The rooms are slightly on the small side, but with the high ceilings and additional amenities (yes, heated toilet seats) it makes up for it. I would stay here a million times over!

Location is in the best street in San Francisco.

Beautiful interior, lots of history, and a very cool bar, the Pied Piper. Free coffee near the gift shop. Garden Court is a good place to eat though rather expensive.

It's honestly totally unacceptable to put guests in rooms directly next to striking staff who are banging drums, yelling through loudspeakers, and playing music all night when you know this is going on. They have the right to protest, but guests should also have the right to make alternate plans before showing up unawares of the situation. I've stayed at the Palace dozens of times, and expected more.

The hotel is luxurious and the staff who are working are very friendly. There are several staff members that elected to go on strike and harass guests out in front of the hotel. To compensate for their bad behavior, all guests are receiving free drinks and snacks as well as extra Marriott points. We are having a lovely stay on our business trip. Thank you Palace hotel and Marriott executive leadership for being so gracious!

I have stayed here quite a few times and have never had a less than stellar experience! The hotel is a beautiful example of old San Franciscan architecture. It is beautiful. The rooms are cozy and warm with beautiful views and the location is perfect for exploring. The level of service here is outstanding. Enjoyed the beautiful indoor pool and gym. Highly recommend!

Great place: in the middle of the financial district you find yourself in an area full of shops and restaurants, very convenient. The hotel is great: the rooms are magnificent, the entrance decorations gorgeous, the bar is well stocked, the Wi-Fi works very well and there is also a well-stocked gym with a pool side by side. The only flaw is the excessive cost even for all these conveniences.

Went to the Palace for High Tea. The environment is great, harp playing and all. The tea was delicious I got the wild strawberry green tea. The four starts is because we had a little of a grumpy waiter and I expected the food to be more. But it’s a great experience if you’ve never had high tea.

Lovely, lovely hotel, with some absolutely beautiful dining area. It's also great for lounging and just meeting with typos people and drinking coffee. Architecturally, the glass roof is quite stunning. Centrally located in SF, it's very fast to reach areas like the shopping mall. All of the amenities are very well-crafted and delightful.

The location and hotel are beautiful. The room was nicely decorated and clean. There were a few negatives though. The pool was cloudy and the spa was filled with brownish foam. It wasn't inviting at all. The last day of our stay there was no hot water so we couldn't shower. Overall the hotel is really nice and a place I would definitely stay again if these items were fixed.

I'm a Starwood customer, and this was the best option available in the neighborhood on a short notice. I traveled for business with a small child. The positive:
— Hotel concierge was very accommodating finding and facilitating trusted babysitting service.
— The room was clean and was kept really well. The cleaning staff was very friendly. … The negative:
— They never brought the baby bed to the room, even after repeated requests. Child slept in my bed after all, but it would have been more comfortable to have a space to keep him contained, i. E. When taking a shower (19 months old).
— The receptionists were rude: I couldn't login to Wi-Fi because they misspelled my name adding a dash between my maiden and married name. No apology, and even made it sound like it was my fault.
— The doors are not equipped with automatic function, I feel very sorry for anyone in a wheelchair. I had a stroller and child car seat on several occasions, and it was very uncomfortable. The valet would open the door for me half the time. There were always a few of them hanging out by the door, but somehow they always missed a woman with the stroller / carseat.

Update July 2018I came back a second time for a longer stay and the excitement kinda wane and the place doesn't really feel 4-star anymore. The place is still great for its location but there were a few mishaps this time. 1. My first room has a Japanese style bidet toilet! 2. The room has a switch by the door that does nothing. I think there was suppose to be a floor lamp (in my new room, the switch control a floor lamp). 2. There was also a used towel and robe >__

Beautiful and gorgeous atmosphere! For the price, the waitress at The Garden Place made quite a few mistakes and I could tell our food had been sitting awhile before they served me. My mussels were dry and fries cold. Luckily I had great company to make the time pleasant.

I attended a 3 day event at Palace hotel. All though I didn't stay at the hotel, my experience around the common area facilities was amazing! It is beautifully, lavishly decorated in the lobby area. Rest rooms complete with golden colored faucets, full height doors and heavy towel. Restaurant food is both delicious and beautiful to look at. I will definitely come back to stay!

I went to California and stated at the Palace Hotel. The hotel is literally like a palace, grand, beautiful and stunning. The main hall looks the best. The rooms are good and spacious. The pool is okay. The breakfast was filling and had lots of choices in a buffet. Very close to the train station.

Beautiful, historic place. Very well decorated and well maintained old style hotel. Spacious, comfortable conference rooms, eith plenty of spare space around to setup your room. But the conference rooms had no amenities — no projector, screen or a whiteboard. The hotel staff was friendly, attentive and courteous. We didn't stay in this hotel so can't comment on the rooms.

I was thrilled with this hotel. The bed was so Comfortable with a pillow top mattress, high thread count sheets and quality pillows. The bathroom had a fabulous rain shower head, electronic toilet with settings for every need, robes and slippers, oh and giant towels. The room was appointed with leather pulls on suitcase like drawers an extra chair, desk and a very large TV. This hotel was built in 1875 and the architecture is amazing. I felt like I was back in Europe in a grand castle.

Absolutely wonderful stay at the Palace! Old time luxury in a perfect location for shopping and exploring. Breakfast was delicious and the atrium is stunningly beautiful. The pool area is also gorgeous! And all staff we encountered were friendly and helpful.

Excellent hotel stayed there the first time I visited San Francisco. Excellent service and the rooms are flawless and newly renovated. The bed was amazing. The heated toilet seat was a nice touch and made me spend way too much time in the toilet. The hotel is centrally located and you can walk anywhere from there.

I and 4 colleagues booked several days at The Palace, but due to a conflict, had to cancel our reservation. We cancelled several days in advance. Be very careful before you book, however. Because our reservations were "pre-paid" and totaled nearly $8, 000 between us, the hotel's reservation manager was unwilling to reimburse us one penny. I take full accountability for not understanding the policy prior to booking, but the decision to not reimburse even a portion of this fee has now lost the business of an entire company that travels to San Francisco on a regular basis.

It is a beautiful hotel dating from 1909 a real treasure for this city, comfortable rooms, excellent attention, but in my opinion it is somewhat expensive, I think it is somewhat excessive and I do not see it necessary to spend so much money in a hotel in a city like San Francisco.

It has an amazing location, the best annotations, very comfortable, the service is very effective, one of the best hotels in San Francisco that and visited.

Amazing stay in this beautiful historic palace extremely well located.

I was at a New Year's Eve party that the truth was pretty good in terms of space, the only problem came in the music and waiters. The music had as Uns 15-20 songs constantly repeating, coming to listen to the song "Slowly" up to 9 times. On the other hand, the waiters were slow and saved at first, then they had almost nothing to drink.

Big and Nice hotel. Staff nice and smiling. Good Food and room service The 24h of the day. On foot. It's worth it.

Beautiful old building with updated modernized luxurious rooms. Rooms are small as expected due to age of building but very nicely/tastefully decorated. Very Clean. Excellent friendly staff throughout. Wonderful vaulted elegant tea room, great bar with excellent cocktails and beautiful indoor atrium pool. I had a wonderful view of Market St to watch the streetcars go by.

Good Service. Small but very well furnished rooms. Bed and linens were excellent. Skip the breakfast — too expensive for what you get. The waiter tried to charge us the higher price buffet option. If you are not staying there just come in and experience the splendor of the 1906 glass ceilings by hanging out in the lobby for a while watching people.

The lobby is nice and has a nice big dining room but the room was very small. And the window was facing a wall.

Wonderful as always! We stay at The Palace every year at Christmas because it is beautiful and comfortable and the location is excellent. This year our room was even quieter and more cozy than ever, with a perfect mattress and bedding, a luxurious shower, and a good view. Everything was easy and the decorations, which change every year, were lovely. We love The Palace and will be back next holiday if not sooner!

Room was huge, clean and very comfortable. Concierge and door staff were excellent and more than helpful at every turn. Breakfast was again fantastic in choice, service and quality. Unfortunately dinner was a let down. The food was overcooked, poorly presented, slow and the waiting staff less than enthused which came as a shock to my wife and I as everything else was so tastefully done. Would definitely have been 5stars only for that. Overall loved this beautiful hotel.

I was disappointed. All of the interactions with the staff were awful. Valet took over 40 minutes to get my car, the pool deck was filthy with hair all over it, and the bell desk couldn’t deliver my bags to the room because they needed a tip. Will not be returning anytime soon.

They went out of their way to accommodate me and any concern I had, like switching rooms on the first night due to loud neighbor. Location is great and the rooms are very comfortable. Es Palace Hotel has a great trajectory, its Venetian-style architecture that gives it a sophisticated touch along with the magnificent attention and service provision, make this Hotel a place of great comfort.

Beautiful and recently renovated rooms. Excellent service. Extremely comfortable beds. Fantastic buffet breakfast ($49/person). Dinner menu in the bar is a bit limited and static, especially for frequent business travelers.

What happened to the Palace brunch? Still a beautiful place but the service was horrible. From the start, no butter or jam served with the croissants, no coffee refills and she didn't even ask if we wanted dessert. Our Omelets were good, so the issue is not the kitchen. We ended up going to the four seasons for dessert and coffee and wow it was 180 degrees different. Great friendly service and wonderful dessert and coffee. In the future we will skip the brunch at the Palace but the Pied Piper bar is still one of our favorites!

This is by far the best hotel we have ever stayed at. We stayed at your hotel last summer 2016 and our stay started off a little rough. The manager did all his best to make things right and he did by offering us breakfast for our stay. We ended up extending our stay for an additional 2 days and loved every minute of it. Thank you for a memorable experience.

Good place in the city center.

I stayed at this Hotel in San Francisco in June 2016. The rooms are very clean and classy. My bed was just perfect after a long flight. The setting of the hotel it big enough for your events and work sessions with your team. The food is just good! I recommend it. Not too far from the market Street where you will find shops and restaurants. For the price you have to see:D.

I visited them for the events of the Dreamforce 16, so I can only say they are very large and hospitable hotels.

Beautiful, well preserved, old Hotel. Other old hotels in this city should take note. Old does not have to mean run down. Class act.

I've only been here for events in the Grand Ballroom and to Tea. So this review is based on those experiences, which have been superior! Tea at the Sheraton Palace should be on everyone's bucket list. The room is over the top elegant, as is the service. This experience sets you back to another place and time, it is truly a respite from the frantic life we all seem to be rushing around in. Reservations for tea are a must.

Beautiful hotel, center of the city. Room was average size with high ceilings, very nice bathroom and comfortable bed. Gorgeous inside the lobby (there was a wedding or something happening during our stay). Lots of traffic getting there to the valet but otherwise great.

The hotel is beautiful, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I recently proposed at the hotel to my girlfriend, and the plan required some coordination with the hotel. Prior to my arrival I called to coordinate with the hotel, the receptionist connected me with Adriana. Adriana told me she had me covered. Just to start, she made it possible for me to do the check-in process over the phone and via a secure site so that when I arrived I'd just need to show my ID in exchange for the keycard, and had a bucket of ice placed in the room along with chocolate covered strawberries minutes prior to our timed arrival. She made the entire experience flawless for me, and extremely special for the two of us. My fiance was head over heals. Thank you, Adriana. We look forward coming back to stay for our anniversaries to come.

Don't miss this lobby and restaurant. The food is good. Especially the Sunday Brunch. But just to sit in this three story atrium is the treat. Imagine this was used over 150 years ago. Plus the bar is a throw back to 100 years ago. Enjoy.
